Mike was born in Missouri and grew up in Bentonville, Arkansas. Mike lived in St. Louis for 7 years before moving to Boise to finish his degree at Boise State University where he met his wife, Monica. Mike and Monica dated for 6 years and were married June 6th, 2004 at the historical Bishops House by the Boise Foothills. Their honeymoon was a memorable month-long backbacking European adventure, traveling to England, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Austria, and Holland.

Mike enjoys coaching with Team Apex, sharing the joy of running with others and seeing others improve their quality of life through running.
ATHLETIC PROFILE
Mike's interests have been in sprinting distances in track since Jr High School. He excelled at 100m/200m events through HS and at BSU and now enjoys teaching others to succeed in sprinting. Mike also excelled in Football since Jr HS to the community league in 2007.

TEAM APEX PROFILE
Mike is an active participant and contributor with the Team Apex Athletic Center. Mike is the Team Apex President of the Board of Directors. He is a personal speed and strength coach, serves as a "running buddy" for beginners, and develops track training programs. He is also involved in setting up and maintaining 3-5 free running and walking groups for Team Apex participants on a weekly basis. Mike is a current member of the USATF.
GOALS
Short Term: Build a base of mileage
Intermediate: Local 5K, 10K, 1/2 marathons
Long Term: Rock & Roll AZ Marathon in January 09

MEDICAL & INJURY PROFILE
Mike has been fortunate to have never sustained an acute or chronic running injury. (We won't go into Football injuries!)
